Read this book while flying to & from home: “King, Warrior, Magician, Lover: Rediscovering the Archetypes of the Mature Masculine”. I highly recommend it even though I skipped over certain parts that I found repetitive or boring, but it’s a book geared for men or anyone who identifies as such. The authors use Jungian psychology to explain how there are four common archetypes or “behaviors” embedded in the unconscious minds of men (the king, warrior, magician, lover), and that these archetypes are the cumulation of what all men experienced across different cultures and time.
When you have a 5 hr layover in Denver, Co., & realize that you gotta try a local beer & wine—just so to say that you “tried it”—and so you jump on a train and head downtown to try a local beer (SweetWater 420 Extra Pale Ale) & a local wine (Qutori Merlot), and then you realize how starving you are and happen to stumble across an AMAZINGGG Mexican place @kachinadenver, where the bartender gives you a free glass of Cabernet Noir b/c he had a “mispour,” in addition to the Cab Sauv that you ordered, and you realize that Denver is a much better place than you ever expected, especially as someone who used to be a HUGE FAN of Denver Broncos’ QB John Elway when I was a kid—that I’m glad to have ever had a layover here. Def coming back to Denver, C-O, yo. 😏 🏔
Putting up my parent’s Christmas tree really put me in the Christmas spirit 🎄🎁 —even though it’s 70+ degrees in Oklahoma right now. 😎
🏀 Seeing an NBA Thunder game at the last second w/an old high school friend for $6 + watching the drum line from my high school perform during half time + seeing Drake sitting at court side = a MUCH BETTER NIGHT than we ever expected. 😏 (And it helps when you have the section to yourself.)
Yes, my flight for my short trip back home may have been delayed by 3 hrs (which shortens my super long layover in Chicago), but at least I get to fly on a f**king Star Wars plane!!! 🤩
Look Ma!—no shoes.
Needed an excuse to wear this suit that I bought during COVID that I never wore till now, and b/c I was curious to check out @parxcasino where I unintentionally met a kindred spirit who believed in the “masculine energy” more than I believed in the “feminine energy,” and how I believed that they contained more power than the “masculine” b/c they contain the power to bring life into this universe, but that we both agreed that a balance is needed. Anyways, all of this to say that this turned out to be a more interesting night than I expected.
Watching the Jets lose to the Dolphins (no surprise), but still having a great time. 😎🏈
I had the most amazing night the other night.
